The Goldenbridge Cemetery

Opened by Daniel O’Connell – in 1828, aimed at fulfilling his vision to provide dignified burial space “for those of all religions and none”. As such it is a small Victorian garden graveyard featuring beautiful mature trees and a large central monument. Notably, the first President of the Executive Council of the Irish Free State WT. Cosgrave (who died aged 85) and his son Liam Cosgrave a former Taoiseach (died aged 97) – are both buried in a family plot.
